AboutThinkShield

We are a UK healthcare software and integration company. We build clinical applications, connect them to the systems and devices already in use, and support them for as long as our clients need us — from hospital wards to community teams to patients at home.

Our Vision

Our Vision — Quality software. Long-term value.

Clinical software is judged on its worst day, not its best. That principle shapes how we work: requirements gathered with the people who will use the system, thorough testing before deployment, and support that continues long after go-live.

We hold ourselves to documented development practices, structured testing, and a quality management system we review and improve continuously.

Our Mission

Our Mission — Built on principles. Measured by outcomes.

We aim to be a technology partner our clients stay with for the long term. That means reliable systems, realistic timelines, and a support team they can reach.

Clinical needs before technical preferences
Continuous improvement, reviewed formally
Compliance with healthcare information standards
Transparent communication, including when things go wrong
Practical problem-solving over novelty

Our Values

People First

The patients whose care our systems support, the clinicians who use them every day, and the team who build them.

Quality Focused

Thoroughly tested, clearly documented, and supported for the long term.

Built for What's Next

We build on open standards, so the systems we deliver today still connect to whatever your organisation adopts in five years.

Always Learning

Every project changes how we approach the next one.

ThinkVitals Overview

ThinkVitals is a digital patient observations and records platform used across the patient care journey. It centralises clinical information, replaces paper observation charts, records observations at the bedside, and keeps multidisciplinary teams working from the same information — on the ward, in the community, and at home.

How ThinkVitals works

ThinkVitals records clinical observations and calculates early warning scores using the published national algorithms — NEWS2 for adults and PEWS for children. The calculation is the same one a clinician performs by hand; the software carries it out consistently and removes the risk of transcription error.
Escalation thresholds and response protocols are set by your organisation in line with your own clinical policy. ThinkVitals displays the score and notifies the people your protocol names.
ThinkVitals does not diagnose, does not recommend treatment, and does not use artificial intelligence or machine learning. Interpretation of the score, and every clinical decision that follows, remains with the clinician.
